Thanks for identifying that piece. The barrel is from my numbers matching MK3. It is on there for mock up/display. I have since bought a L4 barrel from Apex.

That is a rough one. Still looks in fair usable shape though. How's the bore? Have you shot it yet? I got one of these about 5 years ago and it was like brand new. I would restore it.
I just bought one plus a L4 mag and a repo MK1 stock handle. I think I might buy another and put one on my L4A3 and Mk3 Brens. Yours looks like its a good match with the other wood on your Bren.
Found a link in your neck of the woods for you UK guys.
Bren Gun Wood front Pistol Grip
Thanks for you response Peter. Here is the link for it. I was wondering on what MK Bren it first came out on. Not a big deal just been doing a lot of reading and was curious about it. I've seen...
When did these grips come on the sceen?
I've got 4 Brens now. Mk1, Mk2, Mk3, and last week a L4A3. I would say MY Bren collection was complete if I had a 2 more. Would like a DD Mk1 and although not a Bren a ZB26 or 30. I would be willing...
The barrels, I forget sometimes not everyone has a lathe which makes this problem a non-issue for me. My timing was good when I got into the MG42 thing. I've got 4- 7.92x57 "8mm Mauser" barrels for...
I would defiantly build it. All the missing parts are obtainable and in the end you will have something a lot more valuable than the initial cost. Let alone have a serious conversation starter any...
Here's some pictures of my actual bipod
This is a pic I found on this site. Mine has the shield like the piece on the far right. I'm away from home right now, so I'll post a pic as soon as I can.
Yes it came with a bipod. It has adjustable legs and the difference I see is it has a gas deflector shield attached to it that the other MKs didn't.
Just thought I'd add some pics of the kit
Getting ready to build a L4A3 parts kit from Sarco and I got a few questions. Where does the piece in the first picture go? Second is, how do you tell the difference between a 303 and 7.62N gas...
Both are cool guns to shoot and own. I've owned the 34 for 2+ years and the 1919 over 3. If I had to pick between the two, I would take the MG34 over the 1919. I should have specified earlier my 1919...
I am new to this site but not new to the addiction of belt feeds. I own both of the guns in question. These are both fully assembled running guns? Got a picture or part number of the 1919 mount as...
Hi everyone!
I came across this site while looking up info on my BRENs. I'm 48, retired Military and currently working as an industrial mechanic for the largest agriculture equipment producer. Hint...
