Looks like a S on the left base.
So question should be if real:
Did Rock Ola have a Flip sight with no marking on the right base ?
Or
Did another maker use a Flip Sight with a BR leaf ?
Or...
That link worked when I posted in reply 2.
Trying again:

I'm not familiar with this site so no sure how accurate it is....
First here's a clean link to that site to listed: M1 Carbine Markings
Next your old post about this NI sight. I think Bruce McAskill may have called it:...
Result as expected
Cracked right on that big curl of grain.
Made me think about how nice the workmanship was on the stocks when being made for WWII. How Knots and Sapwood area's were...
Hello Frank, Good to know your OK.
Listing the Maker Marks on the Magazines is needed to help establish a estimated value.
Surely a IP or Rock Ola Mag would be worth more than a IS or U Marked...
Wayne told me this pistol is in War Baby III on page 1629 and it sold for $7500. I never noticed it, but haven't had my copy since back during the Covid lock down. I'm going to try again this...
I didn't know about this 1 of 1 Prototype Designed and made by George F. Grebey who worked on the Winchester Carbine rifle design. I wonder what it sold for.
Below is a copy / paste from the 2012...
I'd buy the Rock Ola and the WRA Springtube for 1050 Euro which today in US funds would be $1,140.04 plus tax.
Those would sell for $1600 - $1800 US Each in my area.
So your paying about a 1/3 of...
I remember how thick the grip was / is and the extra thick right side wall. Felt like a Club
Thx Wayne,
It just dawned on me that I have 2 of them (M and Bomb) in the last box at the end of the vault I built. Same box that has the last style HI Type V stocks I have. I posted this picture of...
Thru all this outside the US never entered my mind. Now thinking about it....... Many things don't......
Thx Eaglelord
In the post on the other Forum I'd have to call it a 60 - 40 crowd that preferred the Garand. The Pro Garand guys took the usual shots at the Carbine calling it 'Under powered'. Some of the Pro...
This was asked on another forum.
I'm curious to your thoughts....
The OP asked:
"So I've noticed that the m1 carbine is much more expensive than the m1 garand when the m1 carbine had over 6...
GI BOB,
What's the owners name again? He recently left me another message on the answering machine about buying more C tip Slings. I have a hard time with his accent. Calls about every 2 months....
WRA I cut stock
Bid- $1,942.00
Buy Now- $2,525.00
If stock sells he'll part out the Carbine.
Wonder what the asking price is for the 'Whole' Carbine ?

If your talking about the one listed by tagmil it's been ruined by the sanding. And a LOT better picture of the Acceptance stamp is needed to verify it is real.
Those Stamps are often Faked.
In...
TJ,
Here's a link to the Carbine Collectors Club Forum that has a post that has been researching these 'Circled 3' stamps. You'll see on the last page #3 that I asked about the style of yours. Which...
Thx,
Need to ask you to look and take a couple more pictures of your WRA.
Pics needed are on the front of the receiver ring.
We're looking for a possible added letter stamp or something that...
Can you spell out the Importers stamp, exactly as it's stamped. A picture of it may help also. Add its exact location.
I may be on to something about the rear circled marking, but want to be sure...
Serial number was applied on 4-15-43.
Seems I've seen that stamp you have on the rear tang, below the serial number before. I want to say on one of the Austrian Gendarmerie regions.
Anyone...
Hope you all found what you've been seeking or wishing for under the tree today.
No IP for me, but there's always Fathers Day
Be Safe and Merry :beerchug:
Thank You Jim,
I was just told:
"every Universal I have handled took the spec style rear adjustable sight. That might be one of the few things they did not monkey with."
By Floydthecat.

Have a guy asking what type Sights will fit his Universal. It's SN 1079xx with the open handle Op Slide and rectangular trigger housing. He's wanting a Adj Sight.
Will any GI or Commercial Adj...
From reading the link BAR added,
Sounds like Drouges served a number of purposes.
Possible this one was used to trail behind the aircraft and pull the extraction parachutes, which releases the...
