I take the rifle out of the stock to clean after every range trip, but I'm not a match shooter, nor are my m1's match rifles. I don't notice any degrading of accuracy in my rifles. FWIW

Field strip and clean after any shooting. Birchwood Casey Barricade for rust prevention, Lithium grease on the sliding surfaces. I don't worry about taking it out of the stock, it's not a M.O.A....

I have the conversion unit. I like it. The floating chamber does need cleaning after use. I can shoot 200 + rds with no trouble.

Mine was the only pistol I had when I was learning to do reblueing. It got a new barrel, stippled and reblued, along with new springs. So it is still going strong
