I'm new here, great forum btw. I'm looking for a certain kind of 1911 grip. I believe they are military issue. I was told that they are "cold war era" issue grips, maybe 1980s
1. They do not have stars on the inside like WWII grips
2. They are darker and not as "plastic" looking than other plastic grips.
3. They are marked with a zero (0) on the inside and some numbers.
4. They came on an early-1990s re-arsenaled Argentine FMAP Colt. They
were imported from the Argentine arsenal after retired from use, and
the parkerized and given new grips.
5. All the FMAP Colts imported by JLD Enterprises that I've ever seen have
grips like these. Perhaps they were made in Argentina.
I'd like to find a place to get a few sets of these b/c I like the way they look and feel over standard plastic grips. It's like they are more fiber and not so plastic looking than other plastic grips.
I have included a few pics of the grips in question. The pictues of the two grips together is to compare the type I'm asking about to a more standard plastic grip. Any info about these grips and where I might find some would be greatly appreciated.
