I'd get in line for for a Springfield Nat'l Match Grade M1Aor base model if you can't afford the upgrades.
Shoot it, learn the platform and its' reloading needs.
As you grow into it, upgrad the parts to USGI, where and when you can find them.
LRB Assembled Upper Receiver by Jon Wolfe with a USGI Trigger Assembly and a cartouched USGI stock. Jon tuned the trigger for me too...he does very good work.
But my older "pre-owned" Springfield shoots very nicely too. "Pre-Owned" can be good buys. But be ready to fix minor problems like bolts that occasionally come apart and need USGI parts to work better.
Be advised, it's a military combat platform capable of MOA or better performance. BUT a base AR-15 or CMPGarand will probably easily out-shoot it and you'll have a lot of extra money for ammunition.
If you don't have one yet, a CMP Garand is a good rifle with a lot of history behind it.
