I think you miss my smart a*s reply... As stated the military didn't do that because those are for parachutists not target shooting. No one in their right mind would scope one. For anything.

It was not done by the US military. They did have the M3 sniper scopes on regular stocked carbines but not M1A1's Can you post some photos of those stocks that have been modified?
