What is an an Arisaka Type 99 7.7mm worth?
I have an Arisaka Type 99 7.7 mm carbine that my father brought back from the Philippines following WWII where he served. It has a split wooden stock and adjustable rear sight.
Does anyone have an idea of what it might be worth?
Thanks

$100-$800. Need a lot more information and photos to narrow it down.
Is it original, no cuts, no missing parts?
Intact mum?
Matching serial numbers?
Rust?
Stock condition?
Anti-aircraft sights?
Monopod?
Arsenal and Series number?
The vast majority are in average condition, missing monopod and anti-aircraft sights, Kokura or Nagura arsenal, ground off or struck mum, may or may not be matching numbers but bolts are often different. Figure $250-$350.

ROPD, Greetings - I would agree with Aragorn on this. Also the stock split you mention is likely factory. There are other threads on the forum regarding how this was done to save wood. Salt Flat

You need to post 3-4 up-close and personal pictures. Collectors do like the Carbines. But pictures tell the tale.

I'll say that if it is a Type 99 "Carbine", it would probably be worth a kings ransom. If it is, in fact, a standard short rifle, then the answers you have gotten so far would apply. Pictures are needed to even begin to estimate a value.

No such thing as a type 99 carbine unless you're calling the short rifle a carbine which is what I took him to mean. There is a type 99 long rifle which are reasonably uncommon. If it's an actual carbine, it's something else.

Yes, I know there is no Type 99 carbine, that's why I said what I said.
