If you have a tank going anyway, do all the metal as they were completely done. Coming along nicely.

Antique Flea Markets today, the two I got nothing at last week just showing you never know. Mess Kit Day it appears. First item is a 1959 US mess kit with the tag still attached. First I've encountered. Weird it managed to survive missing Vietnam.
Then a very good condition self propelled gun by Midgetoy that has limited traverse:
Next stop looked like a bust again but decided to walk back the junk aisle of the last dealer and found two WWI mess kits with a fork and knife and a 1945 canteen all for $7.00. Mess kits both 1918, the J. W. Brown Manufacturing Co. (T.J.W.B.M. Co.) manufacturer, both are the same. The galvanization is very heavy in this area. Fork has a partial manufacturer but no date, the knife is 1917. Canteen, I forgot to photograph but is an AGM CO 1945.
And finally, something I've been watching for a while, but they've been way more than I wanted to pay. A hearth cook pot. This one appears to be manufactured by Waterbury Brass Co but it is not dated that I can see, the upper half of the stamp is missing. These were used extensively during the Civil War over the camp fires. Also in fireplaces so no guarantee it was used by the troops, but it remains a representative piece. At $28, I couldn't pass it up. Most are $70 and up and don't have surviving markings.

Mess knife by Landers, Frary and Clark, 1917. How many did they make anyway? Parts of the contract for fighting knives?

A holy crap moment, I just looked up the first of the free books I got today, and the cheapest one is $195. The Black Rifle: M16 Retrospective
https://www.amazon.com/Black-Rifle-R...ps%2C75&sr=8-1
The rest are just run of the mill books, $3.00-$10.00.

It would be nice to know where all these wealthy people are on the internet, with bulging wallets, that can't wait to pay these sort of prices for things.
