Hi guys -
I'm retired Air Force and finally retired from aerospace engineering after another 20+ years, so I should have time to devote to this hobby! I've got three M1
Garands, an M1 Carbine, and a 1903 Springfield. I'm not an expert r.e. any of them, but I always like to learn new things about all of them.

New in town
New here. Love to shoot old military rifles. Military Silhouette and Service Rifle matches are my current favorites for competition. For me it has been when you had the eyes you did not have the time to shoot and now with time to shoot I don't have young eyes anymore. The fun is figuring out how to do it without altering anything.

Hello all,
Yes I am a newby...at least to this forum...if not to the rest of the world. I must admit that I would not have registered if the forum had not gone private. I have read the threads for a long time, and have enjoyed the voyeristic (is that a valid word?) comraderee we shared. I am reluctant to throw my name out in public due to the habit of tyrants in making opposition lists. Huummm...isn't the white house compiling one now on anti-socialized medicine? Oh well...if I must do this to continue reading the excellent posts contained herein, then I must. Carry on gentlemen, and I look forward to fully joining you.

Just a note of thanks for allowing me to join the Forum. I am a forth generation collector. My most recent purchase is an Ithaca 1911 A1 with an unusual serial number ending with "DC". Once I understnad how to use the forum, I will be asking for help in identifying its history.

Japanese rifle help:
I am a new member and hope several of you could contact me with help on information on the Japanese
paratrooper rifle and also the paratrooper bayonet/utility knife . Production, survival rate, avialablity, price range ect. I would like to sometime have two or three examples which would include: 1- Japanese Paratrooper (with Mon), 2- Japanese matching sniper rifle. Any help or referal would greatly be appreciated. I am not a dealer but farm walnuts here in Northern Calif. Thanks to all who might take the time to help, Hemi-Man
