I sent you the numbers any info on these rifles is appreciated. My wife's grandfather used them in Ireland, he was in his 100s when i got to speak to him but he instantly recognized the MKI***
I wish I knew more at the time, but he died before I could ask him better questions. My goal is to restore a 'great grampy gun' for each of his great grand children.

What specific questions do you have that you did not find answered in that write up?
The only additional information I have nopw is with regards to late 1930s issue and WWII emergency issue of the SMLE MKI***
I never wrote up the info on the SMLE MKIII issue form WWII to the end of use in the FCA in the 1950s and the subseqent surplus sales in 1961 and 1986.

I'd like the info form the thirties on, it would be nice to know the story from cradle to grave. Are you going to publish this info other than in the forums? I'm going to start reading more around the subject to find out how the armies and militias operated during that time period in Ireland. I only really started getting into this stuff because of the family connection, but when I first got a MKI* I had no idea of any of this. I treat rifles as artifacts, so I like to explore all of their biographies.
