The band on the Underwood is a repro. The front sight belongs on a Saginaw. Rebuild marks on the stock, etc.... JUNQUE!
The Inland looks ok. I know Bonniedog. If he says its original, I believe him.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

A early 4 digit Inland.
To bad someone went wild with the steel wool.
Damn painters had to make sure they splattered paint specks on the stock also.

Not steel wool - most likely sand paper or a ScotchBrite pad. Steel wool would have been preferable. Too bad, too, because it was an otherwise untouched early Inland. I think somebody paid $1000 too much considering the scratched-up steel.

i inquired about this one, seller told me the reserve was 1995.00,isnt it amazing how it "almost" reaches the reserve ?
im pretty sure the underwood was listed in the back of the carbine club newsletter a few issues ago, was only asking 1400 then, and this undie was listed on GB back in febuary and sold for 1200. i could be wrong, i dont have my notes where im staying, but im almost positive it is
