    M1 garand in .308 (7.62x51)

Hi! I am a retired USAF Combat Arms Instructor and a lifelong Garand enthusiast. I just acquired a Garand in .308. I detail stripped it , cleaned, and inspected everything. Everything was in good order. At the range I was pleasantly surprized by the mild recoil and accurate groups attainable. In other words, I LOVE IT!. I also have a Swissicon K31. If a person trims down the tab on the M1 cylinder lock (to around a sixteenth of an inch), the Swiss bayonet fits perfectly. It also looks great. Glad to be a new member of this fine forum. I purchased the garand as a back-up for my M1Aicon. I'm now having a personal debate over which one is better!
Oh, such problems to have! May it never be resolved.

    Cool

    Howdy,
I'm from Ontario. Had an interest in firearms from childhood. Recent interest of military rifles and carbines. Enjoy finding out history and what makes these relects work and not work. Seems to be a lot of informative articles here for the collector.

Greetings, I am a new-be as far as military weapons.

I have gleaned some interesting info today about the Kragicon and the Vetterli rifle. I am grateful for this info and feel this site should be both enjoyable and again educational. MNtrekker have a good one.
