Hi, I picked this up with a little estate. There was a couple of Marble hunting knives, a Pal 36, a GI 1911 belt & holster. I just want to know what I have

Also another one here for you to try and find the markings to establish its authentic. Sadly its legend went forth, and as such thousands were made/faked/copied.
Good luck because I have given up trying to find the "Holy Grail" markings on them!

It looks like an original knife that's been "tarted-up" a little in my opinion.

Yes agreed, however, I have seen some really good copies made in India and really good quality too. The grip and the machine work on the handle do look right, but the lack of any further markings does make me wonder!

The stuff the guy had seemed pretty old. There was a "Hy Hunter" Derringer in the Original Box, marked with a sticker "Klein's Sporting Goods", which was a Pre-1968 mail order gun house in Chicago that also sold Oswold's famed Carcano. I am sure thier business declined after the Gun Control Act of 1968. All of the guns were 1950's & 60's stuff. Also, Britainicon was still in the "rationing" phase in the 1970's from WWII, thier economy was decemated from the war.

No, rationing carried on for a long time after WW2 but not into the 1960's or 70's and we did also have petrol rationing a couple of times or so briefly, I believe, due to supply problems beyond our control. Without getting political, many of our traditional heavy industries declined and closed during the 1960's and 70's but this shouldn't be confused with rationing or the war.
