Regardless of the outcomes, the one that was accepted and built turned out to be absolute finest example of American design and manufacturing capability ever done. The numbers just don't lie. No country in the world could have done what the Carbine Program completed.
I'd like to try out the Auto Ordnance entry. That looks like a handy little rifle.

I have some photos around here somewhere of some trials rifles.
Winchester maybe? Can’t recall.
No idea if they’re authentic/original or not. I need to drag those out and post a thread.
Really digging that Savage carbine. I think I see some Browning lineage in there. Remington model 8 and 11. Savage made the 720 on the same A5 type pattern so that tracks.
