Elephant Company
I read this book a couple years ago and will try and find it again. Really good read on how elephants were able to accomplish construction where vehicles couldn't, and how they were used to help refugees escape from Burma to India while being chased by the Japanese in WWII.

A guy that was in my unit long ago was a Vietnam vet with the Marines I believe. Not sure how he would up in the Army Reserves, he probably told me but I forgot. Elephants came up one day and he said they were prime targets for the artillery which he was part of. Never really heard that from anyone but him but he said he was there, he killed elephants. To me, I was rather shocked but they were the heavy construction tools in the region and were military targets.
