Philly,
I've done the same and tried forcing extra $$ at the previous owner.
One WWII vet wouldn't take a dime for a carbine I got from him.
His son in Iraq was wounded and ended up paralyzed from the hips down.
He had only 7 days left in country, his gunner and driver were both killed. The driver had only been in country for 7 days.
Our crew helped to build and paint his son's new home. Custom built for him being confined to a wheelchair.
What goes around comes around.
Mow her lawn and help shovel the snow.
She'll appreciate that.
Only you know the real situation.
Good save buddy !!
Congrats,
Charlie

Phillydude, If she gave it to the police she probably wouldn't get anything for it and it would be gone. You saved it and she got $200.00 more than if she turned it in. You did right by her and it.....Frank

thanks frank, did you get my PM?
i did the foil trick that i learned on here, it doesnt have a lined out underwood, but there are grind marks and what appears to be a faint "U" where underwood would have been, is this a re-stamp? is it rare?
