    M-21 Clip Guide/Rear Scope Monut

I recently acquired a Vietnam era GI Leatherwood Scope and Scope Mount with green case. The one thing I need is the M-21 clip guide modified for the rear sope mount screw. Does anyone know where the modified clip guide can be acquired? I did a search on the internet and have not come up with anything. Terry

I have sold several of those scopes and usually drilled the existing guide myself. simply take the rear screw out of the ARTII mount, tightnen the front one and use a transfer punch of the correct size to mark your drill spot. then you can remove the guide and drill it. i have heated the guide in a small oven to make drilling easier and also used a diamond drill to do a couple. GI chargers are really hard, aftermarkets were easy to drill.

When Mr. Leatherwood was still alive he had some replacements made. They were available from Leatherwood within the last 5-6 years or so. You might send an email to Leatherwood/Hi-Lux and ask: Hi-Lux Inc.

Yes, ART I. I'm not sure if any ART II with the double screw would have made it. Maybe at the very end. We still had ART II's in 3/325 PIR/82nd in 1986.

If you have an ART II this ought to be what you are missing: Cartridge clip guide for Leatherwood ART II scope : Parts & Accessories at GunBroker.com

Looks like the auction ends in about 21 hours.

If all else fails, I can make you one. I have several to make for other shooters - made by welding in the clip slot on regular clip guides, then drilling an tapping the hole in the correct location. No exactly like the original, but it works, and the hole IS in the correct location, unlike the SA Inc. ones.
