Have a ton of these military straps any ideas

I have a ton of these military straps does anyone know what they are or what they are used for? Shorter strap is about 12 inches . Longer strap is roughly 18 to 20 inches.

We'd get a big canvas collapsible bucket of just straps issued with the M113 and there would be a selection of everything in it. These short wide, long thin, long wide...everything. Looked like a bucket of green snakes... They could be applied where they were required.
