    Scotarms Auction 22/6/11 prices realised

All prices include the buyers premium.

    1) L59 (serial D0772) Missing bolt and magazine. Sold as a section 1 (live) firearm, I informed the auctioneer about the L59 status (following various posts from Peter Laidlericon) but as it came into the auction as a section 1 it had to go out as a section 1. If it had been a "non-firearm" I'd have bought it. Price £81.25

    2) A partly deactivated Long-Lee (bolt was 'siezed' and wouldnt move, had a huge screw thru the action and into the magazine) Price £75.00

    3) Four SMLE magazines - almost looked like new - price £87.50

    4) Very rare WW1 Snipers 20 round magazine belt carrier with brass belt loop marked EFD price £81.25

    5) Brass optical sight for the SMLE One leg marked 'George Gibbs Ltd Bristol & London' and the other leg 1271 with the broard arrow. Price £287.50

    6) WW1 ordnance marked SMLE wire cutter. Price £175.00

    7) .303 Martini Enfield Cavalry Carbine dated 1898 Enfield Price £137.50

    8) 303 Martini Enfield Cavalry Carbine. Price £106.25

    9) Long Lee with volley sights, cut-off and bolt dust cover BSA & Co 1898 Price £550.00

    10) 1917 Enfield SMLE Mk3* Price £375.00

    11) A cased Bren Mk1 marked Lithgowicon MA 1942 complete with sights & Bipod etc. In its original wooden case with 4 magazines, stripping tools and waterproof cover. Deactivated !!! (Didnt wait to see it sold)

    12) Scope by Aldis dated 1916, tube engraved Holland and Holland. The QD mount engraved Alex Martin Glasgow. Price £650.00

    13) Nine canvas/Linen cartridge belts for the Vickers Machine Gun. Price £162.50

To get US$ price multiply by 1.6

I must be getting out of touch with prices of the collecatble 'bits and pieces', or, maybe it was just a good day for the sellers.

Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

The price of the Aldis was pretty good - the last couple at online auction went for £1150+.

    Auction

I agree the Aldis went for a good price would have loved it myself.

I hope the buyer of the Gibbs SMLE front sight (Lot 142) realised that lot 150 was the rear sight for it!!!
