    I've only ever seen one supposed real short SMLE and that was discovered in a London church bell tower a few years back.

    These are "shorty's"
    Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    Interesting, but I doubt it was EITHER a WW1 returning soldier or a Home Guard that hid that non standard item...and 20 rds of ammo in a cookie box... I'd still have it though.

    As for the original question, I did one of those myself a few years back for a confederate that dearly wanted one. It wasn't for the tunnels either. Neither is that one...

    I'd like to have the one I did back now, last I saw it was on the shoulder of a young shooter that just bought it at the Calgary gun show in 2010. My friend had died and that was how I found out...
