A weekend in Cairns, North Queensland

Even better in the flesh; the rattle of track links, the roar of the Panther, the Swissicon smoothness of the Pz 68, the cuteness of the Kettenkrad. This could be an annual family outing.

Yep if you want a ride in the Panther next year at their tankfest they only charge $2,500/Aud for a ride & 2 laps though it's a lot cheaper than a 30 minute flight in a Spitfire in Englandicon for $5,000/Pounds.
Mind you the Panther cost the museum $28 million Aud!

Cracking video, and loved the remark about their groundsman needing sedating

They've got some cracking stuff there. Loved the Firefly and the Panther though, but that's not cheap for a Panther ride, although understandable. When my lottery win comes up, I'll tale a first class flight to Cairns for this event and book a few rides.

I did get a ride in a M10 tank destroyer here in the UKicon almost 30 years ago now.
Just the thing for putting round holes in square heads.

They have done well for bunch of blokes in the prawn (shrimp) fishing caper.

A big block of prime real-estate, several huge, cyclone-resistant sheds, all that hardware and a very impressive workshop with excellent technical staff. ....

The trick is to keep unscrupulous (government / corporate) paws off it all.

Being able to lay hands on some seriously exotic and RUNNING toys is quite a thing.

I hope they get the Tiger I & Jagdpanther running eventually thing is the parts are getting so rare nowdays I follow workshop Wednesday religiously they are a very talented crew making silk purses out of sow's ears.
The work that went into the above 2 tanks was astounding to watch as both were pretty much wrecks the Jagdpanther bits were dug up at a WWII factory site and the Tiger was a shattered wreck, we are heading there in May 2024 meeting the wife in Cairns as she finishes a cruise she is on so will spend 4 days there touring.

The series on the Grant tank was just as awesome to follow that chaps father way down south what a gold mine he had stashed of Aussie Grant tanks all they need now is a KF51 Panther and the new USAicon AMX but think the cost of those 2 would be inhibitive besides current kit would be NFS.
