punches m14

the weapon in question is HR and there are punches that I did not understand what they mean, two are placed on the bolt and are A16 and BJE and the other on the receiver, that "AR" immediately after the identification number of the receiver
if anyone has any information, it makes me a pleasure

Assuming the bolt is also made by H&R, it will have markings like the lower one in this photo.
The number on top is the drawing number. THis identifies the blueprint the part is drawn on.
H&R bolts can have an "HRA" if the bolt was made in house, and "HRT" if was subcontracted. Textile Machine Works was the subcontractor.
The remaining markings are the heat lot number for the steel the bolt was made from.


On the receiver, the markings for a H&R made M14 should look like the receiver on the left. There should be no letter suffix.

another thing, the gas cylinders were burnished even if they were made of stainless steel or not?

Gas cylinders were not burnished, they were finished dark. Bright ones are just those whose finish has worn off.
