    Wink Sling slots

A bit slow in posting, and a bit OT, but I noticed in some videos from Paris during the Charlie Hebdo murders, that some of the Frenchicon Gendarmerie appeared to be carrying Ruger Mini-14's. Odd thing, though, they appeared to have M1icon carbine-style sling slots in the stocks! Anybody know if this is a factory mod, or something the French did, aftermarket? I bet if someone called up Ruger and said "I'd like to buy 1000 Mini-14's , they would put any sling you want on them...

There is already a older thread started about this. So as not to get multiple threads going on an off topic subject, lets put any continued posts there.
