I'll keep an eye out on this site Marty and if no one has put photos up in the next week, I'll try my best to oblige. No promises mind you as my computer skills are absolutely cra.............. er, rubbish.

Incidentally, over the years I have put two or three on Ebay and they made sod-all. That's a British Army technical explanation for '.......not a lot!'

Top is the Australian IWS/PVS2 mounting.
Middle is the British IWS mount for the L1A1 rifle.
Bottom is the British IWS adaptor bracket.

Peter, A question which I know you can answer: Was the PVS 2 ever fitted to the L42A1?

Great question Terry.......Officially, no. That's because, going from my memory now, the old PVS IIW's were zeroed by using the interface mount (between the sight and rifle) but the interface mount couldn't be used on the L42 so there would be no means of zeroing the IIW to the L42.

That's the reason why the L42 IIW bracket stayed with the L42 and the others, that COULD be mounted AND zeroed to the GPMG, the AR15, 84mm Charlie G and L1A1 rifle were stored in both the PVS and SS20 night sight box.

Funny you should ask that question because I was only talking to the bloke who formulated it all (in the early 70's) the other day! There, another bit of useless Lee Enfield information

Anyone have an L1A1 IWS mount???

The AN/PVS-2 was standard NVS for the Aussies and Kiwis till it was replaced by the AN/PVS-4, which was then replaced by the CWS Kite and Maxi-Kite sights.
