I was wondering what the correct bolt for a Mark 1 would be[WL3,J5 ?]Thank you HB.

The serial # of the rifle could narrow down the choices.

John Beard has a bolt chart, posted on ViShooter's M1903 website, that will help you answer your question. As stated above, the s/n is needed for the answer but there are several possibilities. http://www.vishooter.net/slc6_2008.html Be sure to look at the explanatory notes as well.

#1068847-If I'm reading chart correctly I need a J5 marked on bottom of bolt or top of saftey lug.Anyone interested in trading afore mentioned bolt for a nice service N.S.[top],2 marked on bottom -small hole lots of finish,very clean.Once again thank you Kirk,that is a great link!HB

Thank John Beard; he did the research and ViShooter for hosting the site. Bear in mind the J5 bolts were in production during the transition between the straight & curved handle bolts. You may want to contact John Beard to see which J5 bolt you need. Good luck finding your bolt!

Got my corret J5 bolt.If anyone needs parts you might try Bob @ 610-222-9070 as he says,pricie but original.Has lots of parts including wood[17 stocks].Sometimes he is open to trades.Tell him John from Conn. sent you.HB/John
