    Got yer eyeballs working good?

Is that a No1 Mk3 rear sight leaf or not?

My guess is that the "aperture", complete with windage screw is from a Mk 1 SMLE.

Note the "V" notch instead of the "U" as found on later variants.

The leaf and base look a bit like those found on CZ / Brno rimfire rifles.

The patch box on the RHS of the butt is a ripper!

It looks similar to the Mk III sight, but not quite. The windage adjustment knob is too big and not the right shape. Interesting rifle.

Look to the BSA series of cheap .22 rifles and possibly air rifles.

    I missed it somehow.

Overall I like it, though my style would have it with a long fore end under the barrel.

I seem to recall reading about a pre war BSA air rifle that was configured like a Long lee and another model like a short lee. it might be the sight off of that. if so it woudl be very rare,

Yeah it was a pretty damn good quake, longest I have ever felt, just over 30 seconds from reports.
