    Mannlicher Rifles

I recently picked up a nice 1894 Swedishicon Mauser

I like the style and military history

I am not knowledgeable of other military mannlichers similar to the 1894 Swede

Is there a web site detailing these rifles or posting photos?

Are you referring to the full length stock as "Mannlicher"? Common parlance on sporters regardless of action type, but it's very confusing when used in reference to military rifles. Only Mannlicher actioned rifles are called such, and not always even then!

    Mannlicher Rifles

In reference to the Mannlicher rifle action, the rifles I am interested are like the Swedishicon 1894 Calvary rifle. 37 1/2 inches in length with forearm wood full length to front sight

    Thanks

    Mannlicher style stocks

Other military Mannlicher style rifles; 1893/95 Spanish Cavalry/Engineers carbine, 1909 Argentineicon Cavalry/Engineers Carbine.
Others that have been falsely accused are Mountain Carbines/Rifles which have the short barrel but the stock has a bayonet lug like a standard rifle.
    An excellent reference source for military mausers is;
Robert Ball's "Military Mausers of the World" , it's about $40-$50 bucks @ Barnes & Noble. Good luck !

Tul, Here is a partial list of rifles that I would consider to be of Mannlicher design (action type) (I'm sure this will be questioned as well):
    M93 Romanian
    M95 Dutch Mannlichlicher
    Greek Mannlicher
    Mannlicher Schoenauer sporting rifles
    35M Hungarianicon
    43M Hungarian
    G98/40
    Portugese Vergueiro

No need to fret about a list guys, just get this book and view the lot!

"Mannlicher Military Rifles" by Paul Scarlata. ISBN 1-931464-14-6.

The one I really, really fancy is the M.86. Just about the only black-powder clip-loaded magazine rifle. 11mm "Werndl" caliber. Most unfortunately, it was production-ready just as the Frenchicon turned the rifle world upside down with the "small-bore" smokeless powder Lebel. Talk about instant obsolescence!

Me, too. So much so that I hoarded a bit of ammo and clips.

    A small sample:

Have yet to find a rifle in any condition!
