Heading home from up the NW

Looking at our red dirt from plenty thousands of feet from the charter jet not sure being home is good for the bones sitting in @22 Celcius after working during the day at 43 Celcius then at night at 27-30 Celcius.

No it is good to be home again and sitting in my sulk room.........

Yeah the Ol' Bird trick I am employed p/time by a small contractor who looks after safety at Gold Mines, he has just picked up another mine in Telfer sending up 3 Specialist Safety Advisors up there 1 x Confined Space, 1 x Working at Heights and my self doing Cranes & Scaffolding we look after them and hold conversations when/where its warranted we all do general safety as well.
We are not hated like we were 4-5 years ago but are looked upon a bit like a 5th wheel trying to get people to think as procedures, JSA's, Take 5's etc are fine but its the lowest denominator the human factor that 8-9/10 is the basic cause whether through fatigue/peer pressure or sloppy work habits that ultimately see us conducting an ICAM.

We had the permanent crew who work there normaly (@1000) then us contractors 700 workers split in 2 x 12 shifts on an 11 day shut which equated to 92,400 man hours with only 1 level - 2 incident a rigger getting his index finger squished a bit just a steri strip & band aid and 1 near miss so all in all considering the interfacing of work crews on a running plant on a small site as a fairly good outcome.
