K98 S&K scout instamount

Hello there - I bought a New s&K scout mount for K98 from a member here. Tried it on both my Russian Capture as well as my Yugo 98 , mounting Vortex Hunter low rings and a Hi-Lux scout scope....cannot boresight it, it aligns too high vs bore (i.e. shooting low) even with elevation setting all the way. Has anybody experienced anything similar? Could it be that the mount base - or the scope - is defective? Thank you!

I have installed several S&K mounts on 98's with no problem. You need a very long eye relief scope. At what distance are you bore-sighting? Close up i.e. several feet will give the overbore problem you describe. Suggest try bore-sighting at 100 or 200 yds.

Thanks - that maybe the issue - I am trying at 50yds - will try at 100yds and see what happens. Indeed I mounted the scope thinking of shooting 200yds...

Tried boresighting at 100 yds, same story ... scope aims too high vs. point of impact. I believe the mount sits too high on the front of rear sight base, possibly the screw holes are out of spec. I emailed S&K , let’s see what they say.

S&K replied promptly to my email, asked to send back mount together with target showing how far off the scope is from POI at 100 yds, and they will adjust it... can’t complain...
