    CG 80 finally arrived

I haven't had a chance to get to the range with it, but it has arrived.

There is one thing on the barrel that I'm trying to figure out-there is a small embossed rectangle, on the top of the barrel over the chamber, straddled by two shallow tapped holes:

Anyone have any ideas about it?

    Thanks, Steve

Looks like a plate was attached with a different number. Heaven knows why. But I wouldn't worry about that - get out and shoot it. CG80s are very, very good, and will repay handloaded ammo tuned to the rifle.

    Steve,
    Very nice CG80!
Tend to agree with Patrick re the two holes.
I have an 80 as well and you'll really like shooting this rifle. Soft recoil, deadly accurate and an all around fun rifle.
I've been working up loads and have managed some pretty impressive (at least to me and my old eyes) 5 shot 1/2" groups @ 100 yds.
Good luck and enjoy the rifle.
