A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Well, unless you think it's an Italianicon job, yes, IMHO. By 1943 only BSA rifles were being set up. All of the non-BSA rifles I've ever seen that were genuine H&H conversions were dated 1941 & 1942. And of those, apart from Savage rifles I've only seen one dated 1942, & that was a Maltby. Essentially, if you are offered a 'genuine' WW2 4T built on a Britishicon or Savage rifle (other than a BSA Shirley) & dated 1943, 44, or 45, be extremely wary.

Machining for the front pad 'flat' is not very neat. Originals are very precisely milled, as you would expect. Not sure if the bracket is original Dalgleish or one of mine without additional views. Scope is real. Scope serial number on butt looks very recent.......

    Thanks Roger.
No, it is not an Italianicon sniper.

    That too.......

Plus both rifle serials on the bracket look to be the same size & font. Not impossible, but unlikely if stamped years apart & in different workshops.

Body wall 'T' just doesn't look quite right either..........but that might be my eyes!
