    1976 L42A1 Transit Chest Label?

I'm restoring an L42A1 transit chest in rough shape. As mine has no lid label, I'm making a reproduction of one.

I like the font and the slightly greater height of the 1976 label. But I have found only one photographic example of such a label.

Does anybody have personal access to a chest with a label from 1976? If the one in the photo below is a reproduction, I'll simply mimic that.

OTOH, if the 1976 version is legit, I'll alter mine so it can be easily identified as a repro.

Related question: The labels seem to be made from regular paper. See the identical damage from the bolt handle to the lower left hand portion of the 1971 and 1975 labels. Has anybody seen a label made from plastic, or thick cardstock, or anything other than plain paper?

What has the group seen of materials or 1976 labels?

There will/should be labels available shortly.
I have lent a spare label I had to a friend who is going to get some made.
I will post here on the site, when they are available and looking at my own set, I might replace mine it as well.

If you are going to do the labels yourself and want to ID them as repro, just put a small (R) on it in the corner or someplace else.

    Repro Labels

Given the advice received from the group, I decided that the 1976 labels are probanly repros rather than genuine, so I reproduced the example I had a photo of.

I think they came out well, and I have my spares for sale in the WTS section.

They're on heavy adhesive paper, only time will tell if the adhesive needs additional glue or not.
