A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Looks good, the only way to tell would be to issue and drag it around for a couple months to see for yourself...like we did the FN... I carried the FN for 15 years, got pretty used to it. Then the AR...I think we would this one too.

It looks good. My impression is that engagement distances have more than doubled in the last 20 years. This has seen army's proliferating designated riflemen and snipers, and heavier calibre weapons. To my thinking, that leads to bring 'battle rifles' back, so the CZ BREN 2 may see it's day.

Well, yes...specially in the last two battle areas... Open and arid.

"...bring 'battle rifles' back..." Battle rifles never left. They just got smaller in calibre and turned black.
Can't imagine NATO or the Brits adopting a Czech icon

made rifle. The U.S. absolutely would not.
