G33/40 bayonet
Hello everyone,
I recently acquired my first G33/40 and had a question concerning the bayonet. Quite simply, what's the difference between a bayonet for the G33/40 and that of a K98? Is there one at all? I've put my K98 bayonet into the G33/40 and it fits fine, without the cleaning rod in place. My assumption is that the cleaning rods are different somehow (larger diameter head) and won't fit up into the groove in the bayonet. If that's the only difference, is there an outward visual cue I can use to identify a G33/40 bayonet otherwise? Thanks everyone.

I have a nice dot 41 all matching 33/40 and recall that there was a Model 33 carbine bayonet with the upwards blade that was used with the early 33/40. most
collectors will just state any dot early bayonet would be proper
