I was blessed to meet four of them at a small airshow and militaria fair at Owen Field in Columbia, SC in the early 2000's where they were also having their yearly reunion. True American patriots ALL!

It makes my heart sink every time we loose one of these guys. I was fortunate to meet some but to busy racing cars and chasing girls to get to know them very well.

It's one of the incredibly brave raids of WW2 and a one way mission at that. Those who took part knew full well the odds of survival were slim at best.
Another of a vanishing generation, forged in steel, has headed West guys.
Gone but never forgotten.
