Silly question but..
I know for you guys this is common knowledge but... How can you tell if it's getting close to replace your firing pin and extractor without having malfunctions that tell you?I have my guns completely, I mean every little thing, torn down, for complete cleaning, oil, greasing, respringing, etc, and while it's apart, I'd like to replace anything that needs to be replaced?

Measure it! Somewhere out there you will find the tolerance limits for striker protrusion. Someone on this forum can surely give you the values.

If you have no malfunctions I would leave it alone. Just make sure you have spares for Day X. That may be so far in the future that you never experience it! But if you do, any spares will by then be rated as unobtainium or luxury items.
