    M1D Springfield with Danish Scope

Does anyone know the history of Springfield Garandicon M1Ds with Danish scopes that were sold about 20years ago?
Why were the Danes sold Breda Garands, but have M1Ds that were Springfields?
Why did they mark the M84 Scopes with Danish crowns? Were they made in Denmarkicon?

If the Danes were given or sold M1Ds - when, why, how many?

What would one of them be worth, complete, in very good condition?

So your "kit" had an M1D barrel and the Danishicon marked M84 scope?

There was a great article in the Spring 2012 GCAicon Journal by the man who bought all of the surplus M1icon rifles from the Danish Army. He states Denmarkicon bought close to 1000 M1D rifles from the US. The scopes were property marked in Denmark with the 'crown FKF' and the serial number of the rifle. I had one that was assembled from a kit and a CMPicon receiver.

Wow, that sounds like a good article to read. I did not see any way to get a copy of this journal online but I will contact the publisher.

How did you get an M1D with a scope, even incorrectly described as a repo, for $300?
Even Breda Garands, beat up wood, are going for $750 and up.
Then you factor in an M1D barrel and a scope. The some of the parts alone would put it close to 2k.

I think he bought the scope then put it on his rifle.
