    Thoughts on This Ithaca

Came across this at my buddy's pawn shop today. I believe the finish is original. No rebuild marks. Has all the right markings in the right places. Proof P's match slide and frame, to my eye anyway. Has Keyes grips and a Scovill mag. Bore is excellent. Only thing out of place that I see is the wide spur hammer. Finish wear matches the rest of the pistol so it's been there awhile.
Serial number is close to some that are known to have went to the Navy. The Ithaca shipping records I've seen only go back to the 1453xxx range. Any info on where this one may have went?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. I guess the barrel wears HS, and the MSH has 7 ribs. Effectively the hammer does not match, good acquisition.
Concerning where she went, what I found is:
1446874-1453071, quantity 1,000. May 12, 1944 to Benicia Ordnance Depot. Benicia Calif.
Or, 1442252-1453693, quantity 250. May 24, 1944 to Officer in Charge Naval Supply Depot. Oakland. Calif.
Certainly some collectors more aware could say more.
