    Question Original K98k's over $2,000 U.S. mark?

    Well, I guess we have a new milestone for "all correct" and righteous K98kicon Mauser values. This old girl sold for $2,100 U.S.

    GunBroker - K98 337 1940 Matching Original Non-import (click here)

    K98 337 1940 Matching Original Non-import. 65-70% original blue. No rust under woodline. Not Russianicon capture. Original finish laminated stock with correct proofs. All matching and correct. Original WaA marked and m marked muzzle cover. Correct 1940 dated sling. all small parts are correctly marked, front sight blade and rod also serial numbered. Bore VG and shiny. Nice example of a carried rifle that has not been messed with in any way. I ship to FFL or C&R FFL in a hardcase. 3 day inspection period.

    SOLD - $2,103.99 U.S.

    ================================================== ===============================

    ..... and here's another that went for $2,075.00 U.S. If you want to get into comparing markings for authenticity on this one, go to the Milsurp Knowledge Library - German Section and compare it against the 1939 147 JP Sauer K98k manufactured by JP SAUER und SOHN GEWEHRFABRIK, SUHL. The auction one is a year later, but it's interesting to see the consistency of JP Sauer K98k's from year to year.

    GunBroker - VERY NICE ALL MATCHING K98 147- CODE WWII MAUSER (click here)

    THIS IS A VERY NICE GERMAN K98 MAUSER FROM WWII IT IS 1940 CHAMBER DATED AND RARE CODE 147 MARKED AS WELL, COMPLETLY MATCHING INCLUDING ALL SMALL PARTS AND CLEANING ROD. HAS ALL CORRECT WAFFENAMPT MARKINGS INCLUDING GREAT MARKINGS ON STOCK , THIS IS NOT AN IMPORT MARKED RIFLE. IT RETAINS 95% STRONG BRIGHT BLUE, THE STOCK IS VERY GOOD, AS IS THE ORIGINAL LEATHER SLING THAT IS STILL SUPPLE AND STRONG WITH SOME DARK STAINING. THIS IS A VERY NICE K98 WORTHY OF ANY MAUSER OR WWII COLLECTION . SHIPPING IS 35.00 ( WILL BE SHIPPED IN BRAND NEW HARD CASE FULLY INSURED ) TO FFL OR C&R HOLDER IN THE LOWER 48

    SOLD - $2,075.00 U.S.
    Regards,

    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Well, to be fair they both came with slings and muzzel covers, so the rifles are worth circa 200 less than the selling price

    FWIW, if you follow the U.S. auctions, a lot of the feedback is not filled in for buyer or seller and there appears to be lots of shill bidding with repeated same winning bidders. And lots of bidders with zero feedback (shills).
    Same as on ebay. Some say you're lucky if 55% of auctions are actually completed transactions.

    Scary price, but, alls this means is two guys were willing to spend that kind of maoney on the same gun, its dosen't set the blue book, nor should it. I've seen many times some gun dealer see's this type of thing and go over to his guns and raise the price, but, never sell the gun-SDH
