A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Howdy From Central NY

    Howdy,

    I'm a Noob from Central NY. I got a Russianicon Capture 98K Mauser, a Yugoslavian M24 Mauser, and I just purchased a Indian Lee-Enfield 2A1 Rifle in 7.62 x 51mm.

I find that I enjoy working on these old soldiers quiet a bit, I have even more fun shooting them!

I'm Sure I'll have plenty of questions, please forgive the stupid ones!

    God Bless!

Good Morrow from DownUnder (there I didn't say "G'day")

I'm an old soldier, (emphasis on the 'old'), and did a bit of time in the Infantry before transferring to RAEME and becoming an armourer. Abiding interest in firearms of all types, steam locomotives and railways, vintage cars and history in general.

In retirement I call myself a 'Consultant Armourer' and am always willing to pass on out-of-date information.

    Eoin.

    Hello everybody!!

My name is Mike, most people know me as Bear, and I like rifles. I prefer Enfields, No 1's to be precise, but I won't thumb my nose at other war horses. Current project is the restoration of a 1906 BSA/Sparkbrook Mk I*** SMLE. It's been 2 years in the works and it's finally coming together.

Anyway, Hi to everyone. Hope to be able to contribute in some small way around these parts.

As a new member to this forum, I would like to say HELLO to all. I have several military surplus rifles. I need several items for these weapons. This seems to be a great forum for military surplus parts and ammo.

    New kid in town.

Hello. I've just joined the Milsurps forums, as I've just become the proud owner of a M1icon-D Garand. The Garand has always been one of those firearms I've always wanted. I'm looking forward to learning more. Thanks for providing this forum.

Hello everyone. First post. I have an early Springfield M-1. Late January, early February 1942. All parts appear to be correct for the make and date, although I haven't had it completely apart to check on those not completely visible. Except, of course for the stock, which is a non-cartouched later stock. I have an SA/GHS stock which was refinished. Although the SA/GHS is still visible, the crossed canons are not (however, with a magnifying glass, great light and tremendous leap of faith. you can make out tiny remnants .) A couple of questions. 1. If some of the smaller parts are later arsenal replacements, how difficult would it be to obtain correct replacements? 2. There is an SA/GHS stock up for bid on Ebay. How do I determine if it is genuine (I had help getting the stock I currently have)?

Introducing myself. Been on the site several times, but never posted. I'm into all aspects of firearms; shooting, collecting, reloading. Lots of great information on this site. Keep up the good work.
