New Member Asking for Help in Researching Winchester P14

    Hello,
I am a new member and was impressed with the content of one of my favorite rifles - the Winchester P14 Sniper. I especially enjoyed the write up in the forum providing good information on how to authenticate the weapon. It is is very good condition and only lacks the original sling and canvass case. But the information taken from the research posted on your site will keep me searching for more information on other weapons I tend to favor.

This is an amazing platform and consistently shoots accurately either by open sight or the BSA Scope. It reaches out and, in my opinion is probably one of the most accurate sniper rifles after its release into WWI. For under a 1000 meters it is my first choice.

I have a Winchester P14 that has faithfully hit targets over the years and despite the fact that it shoots both surplus, factory ammo and reloads with surprising accuracy, I am trying to get more information such as where the rifle was issued (Probably WWI) and possibly which regiment it was assigned to. Can anyone help me track down any more detailed information on SN W219920. It has a BSA Scope dated 1918.

Thank you gentlemen for allowing me to explore this site and I beg your patience until I become more familiar with proper protocols.

    New Member Introduction

Howdy from the flatlands of Texas.

I just joined this forum after reading some rather interesting and insightful information regarding a Winchester P14. Since I own one (SN W219920) the information was quite useful in terms of general information and specifications plus verifying the authenticity, etc. However, I would like to dig deeper and was wondering if anyone has researched their respective P14 to find out its story such as to whom it was issued, what campaigns it was part of, what regiment it belonged to, etc. This one is in pretty good shape as the bolt, BSA Scope, and receiver all bear the same serial number.

The rifle is very accurate and has served me well over the past 28 years. I still enjoy going to the range and doing some long gun practice.

There are a couple more WWII weapons that I own that I might want to research later.

But if anyone can advise how to get more detailed history about this particular rifle, it would be most helpful.

Thank you for allowing me to participate in this group.

    New guy here.

I discovered this site only a few days ago. I recently bought an Eddystone 1917 and was killing time surfing the internet for more information about it and that's how I discovered this site.

    Hello, all.

    Crunluath here.

I'm a newcomer to the C&R scene and my love lies within the Lee-Enfield series of rifles. So far to my collection I have a No. 5, L8A5 and a 2A1. I hope to add a normal No.1 Mk.III and No.4 to my collection some time soon and maybe even an L42A1 if I can find one these days.

Pleasure to be here. I hope our interactions in the future will be good!
