Noob from central VA. Looking forward to perusing the info here--1911s and M14s/M1As are of special interest.

Hey nice to be a new member. I have a 1937 91/30 and an M1a. Next week I'm getting an 03a3 with a lyman all weather Alaskan. The seller says his buddy gets sporterized 1903a3s and the return them to their former state. And if they were drilled a tapped they make snipers out of them. I'll put some pics up later. My history: 5 years active duty Marine 88 to 93 and State Correctional officer for over 20 years. We use the mini 14 at work.

I'm a 1911/1911A1 aficionado as well as a small collector. I have been lurking around here for several years now.
I've often found a lot of useful info here.
I know that well known collectors are taking part to this forum, and in all honesty I doubt I'll ever ever be able to give a substantial contribution to the general knowledge.
I appreciate being part of it though, thanks a lot.
Best regads to all from the other side of the Atlantic.
Sergio
I always tell my collector mates to put originality at the top of their priority list, originality isn't something that can be restored. I've never seen a 1911 I didn't like.

Greetings everyone! New to milsurps.com, but have been somewhat active on gunboards and the k98k forum. interests are k98k's, Swedish mausers, 1903's and m1917's. just got an eddystone m1917 and found your forum to be very helpful.

Welcome aboard!
I also spend time on the K98k board (and gunboards) since I have about 65 or 70 of them.
