A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Introducing myself, new member.

    Hi all,

New member here from Ottawa Canadaicon. I recently bought my first milsurp rifle and now must expand my collection. Discovered these forums through a member of CGN (not trying to promote another group) who was advertising a gun sale and posted his email ending with milsurp.com. So here I am and I wish I had discovered these forums first since there is so much info on milsurps.

I am using joe.grey on CGN in case some of you need to check my feedback from past sales/purchases.

I am a new member from Kentucky. I retired from the Army some years ago having spent my time as a tanker, and yes, it's the best job I ever had. I have a modest accumulation of castoffs from various armies and I enjoy the history. It is enjoyable and enlightening to use the tools of the trade, from friend and foe, alike.

    New Member here

Hello...new member here from Massachusetts. Got addicted to this hobby a couple years ago when I bought a "luck of the draw" M1 Garand from CMPicon. To date I've acquired two Garands, two M1 Carbines, including an M1A1icon, and a Remington 03A3. I enjoy shooting them all. I hope to participate and learn from this forum.

    Hi folks,

Wayne Johnson here - some of you may recognize my "Goose52" user name from other boards. I'm the guy that wrote the book "The FN-49 - The Last Elegant Old-World Military Rifle" back in 2004.

I registered on this board back in 2007 but just realized that I had never posted in all that time - hence, the purpose of this post.

    Cheers

Pogi from Oregon here. A long time AK guy that is branching out and picked up a M1icon Carbine from CMPicon last year so I am doing some research on Inland and SEY mags. Thank you to all that have shared their info.

    Hello all.
    An old geezer here.
I know I will spend many hours reading and learning here...

But the MAIN reason I joined:

My father grew up during the depression, was in the Army Air Corps during WWII.
When he died a few years back I inherited A LOT OF STUFF.
Included: a fair amount of militaria.

So... I'm going to be posting in the "APPRAISALS, fakery, disputes... etc." forum
    - one item at a time I guess
    - seeking information, proper terminology, etc. for what I have
    - AND appraisal VALUE, I hope, so I will know what to ask for various items

    I have two goals:
1- I'm not looking to get rich off these items, but I would like to get "fair value" for them
2- equally important... to get these items into the hands of someone who will appreciate them

    Thanks.

    Happy to be here.

Hope it is a successful path for me to accomplish something.

    JamesD
