    Hello MilSurps community!

Good Morning MilSurps Community! My name is Peter Monostory and I have discovered this forum thanks to Roger Wadham's book, "The 2012 Complete Book on Lee Enfield Accurizing".
Although I was raised in Seattle in the US I find myself at middle age living in Melbourne Australiaicon. As with many shooters, my gun safe seems to have grown seemingly on it's own and there are three Lee Enfield "project" rifles included in this menagerie. I have a Sportco sporterized 1903 No 1 in .303 with a completely pitted out barrel that I would like to bring back to life for deer hunting, I have a 1917 sporterized rifle in .303/25 that I would like to set up for fox shooting and I have a 1942 full military No 1 Mk3 that I discovered in my farmer Father in Law's storage shed. I saw a wasp fly out of some sort of tube in the back of said shed and upon investigation I discovered that this "tube" was the barrel of a long forgotten rifle. It turned out that in his single days, my Father in Law, Bruce, competed at 500 yards with open sights with this rifle. He told me that the Bulls Eye was rather large (can six feet possibly be correct?) but that was his recollection. Sadly Bruce is not with us any longer but I have inherited the '42 Enfield and his 12 guage Greener SxS shotgun. I hope to use this Forum to meet some shooters of these venerable firearms and to glean some information about parts and secrets to accurize all three of these rifles. I look forward to meeting many of you.

    Sincerely,

    Peter Monostory

    G'day from Queensland, Australia

I've been collecting and shooting 303 rifles for many years. Current project is a 1904 BSA No1 Mk1. Has matching barrel and action. Barrel was replaced in 1911 and renumbered to the rifle. I have all the parts and the only issue I have, apart from a .311 pill sliding clean through the barrel, is the foreend fit. I am looking for the original armourers method of repair. The stock was never fitted with the copper recoil plates as were the Australianicon coachwood and Queensland Maple stocks. Any help would be really appreciated.

    New member from IL

Hey all, thanks for being here. I joined today, would've joined before now but I hadn't found this forum till today. I don't have a large collection of milsurps but I do have a few. I'm a member on a few other boards, and really enjoy the addiction. Looking here for any info I can use and I hope I can contribute some that will be useful to others.
    Glad to be here.
