A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Hello world!

    Hey everyone!

Just getting joined up here. I am a collector/repairer/enthusiast when it comes to WW2 commonwealth weaponry, mainly Enfields. I do have a Garandicon, and recently dove into the world of Bren-ing. I have a background in welding/machining and am currently a diesel mechanic working on heavy equipment for a living. I hope to learn lots and hopefully contribute, as well.

    Newbie to the Forums

New here but have had an interest in milsurps for quite a few years. I used to collect but after the long range shooting bug bit me, something had to give and I sold my collection back in 2008. I still have a Chileanicon 1893 I shoot. I bought it back in 1972 for $60. It had been sporterized into a nice 20" Mannlicher style, I don't know who the gunsmith was that did the work but he was a craftsman reshaping the military stock into the Mannlicher style. The barrel after being cut to 20" was nicely crowned. It shoots the best with Hornady 162 grain Interlocks over IMR 4064 powder.

Hello all, new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself. Long time interest in military firearms, new owner of a Springfield M1icon Garand and am deciphering all the various issues involved when using an enbloc for the first time! Love the rifle though, and am looking forward to truly appreciating this fine firearm and getting to know this forum and all of you. Cheers!

    Smile Mr

Hi all, I'm a new member and searching for history / data for the 2 - 303's that I own.
Thank my lucky stars for finding this web site.

    303 no.1, I now think it's a M.L.E. "Territorial" ( Luke Tippins ) with a Guy Fultons barrel.
Not a mill surp rifle, but with the help of the info on this site I managed to see the light & work out what I had bought.

303 no.2, Enfield SHT LE. Mk 1** dated 1904, with updates fitted upto I think a Mk 3, with an N stamp for Navy issue stamp and has a Parker Hale 5a rear site fitted.

Up in the Mountains of California

    Hello All,
I live way up in the mountains of the Peoples Republic of CA. My first Milsurp was a Saginaw M1icon carbine about 30 years ago. Back then, I didn't know much about guns but got hooked by the bug hard. Now I am an expert (in my own mind ). I love history and though not exactly "milsurp" I would love to start reproducing (building) guns going back to the early 1650s. I look forward with talking to with all of you.

    New member

Hello to all. I joined this group to expand my knowledge of military armaments.
I have enjoyed the shooting sports since high school.Have shot competitive bullseye in central Massachusetts for twenty years.
My first military rifle was a Carcano followed by an Enfield and models 96 and 38 Swede!....My latest rifle I need more help on is a Mukden, model 3 Chinese 98.
I believe it was an American take back following ww2. No import marks and in very good shape. There were only 140000 made and my s/n is 81xxx.
So if you guys can help fill in the blanks I’d appreciate it.

    Mauser 1893

I have a Mauser, 1893 (?) DWM, #C-3XXX, Had it for 45 years. Stock has been skinned. apparently when marketed. Sights are missing. equipped with scope. All numbers match. Hunted with it yesterday. I believe this is one of 5000 Ludwig Lowe Rifles intended for South Africa. Riffle is accurate for hunting. Bore is fair, Square bolt lug. Asking for additional info on rifle, value. history. Thanks very much.
