New enthusiast. Just tore down, cleaned and assembled an Arisakaicon 99 Series 32. My Dad was a WW2, SSgt Recon Marine. This was a battlefield capture from Okinawa. Has sat dormant for the past 75 years, never fired or cleaned! Intend to take it to the range and see how it shoots.

    New Here, from Colorado

Hello. I'm somewhat new to the milsurp collecting world.
I'm interested in turn of the century to early cold war firearms and have a small collection going. Hope to learn a lot here.

    Howdy!

    Hello out there.
My name is Lon, although some of my friends call me "Lonzo". I live in a small town in Kentucky, and teach at the community college. Prior military, 30+ years ago. Hobbies include restoring Corvairs, old radios (although I sold several prior to the divorce 6 years ago), collecting books, and firearms.
I've been a "member" for 12 years, just lurking... but I've recently come into some milsup rifles that need some parts... I'm slowly getting them cleaned up. I have 3 Carcanos, a 91/41 6.5mm long rifle, a short 6.5mm carbine (thinking it's a TS?) and an M38 7.35 carbine (and over 150 rounds of 7.35 ammo) that some bubba cut the stock up on... it looks naked with all that barrel showing.
There's also an Arisakaicon (sadly the mum is wiped off), and two Enfields, a No1 & a No4, that both need some serious wood replaced (fire damaged)... so I'll be looking for that.
I'll be cleaning & de-rusting what I can... it's a shame these poor things were neglected as they were, some not so bad, but the Enfields look like they were found in the rubble of London in May 1940...
Feel free to point me in any direction that you think will help.
    Thanks a bunch!

    new member says hello

    Thank you for the add

My chief interests in Milsurps are focused around WWI. My family has a long history in military service here in Canadaicon, and the family has always had a few tired old rifles in the cabinet from long generations before.

Most recently I've been working on Ross Rifles and I'd really like to find an old India Pattern Brown Bess for old times sake.

i have just purchased a grenade launching cup for my enfield grenade launching rifle which is marked GL especially for this purpose. the thing is my cup has a piece of twine on it and the adjustment screw is a wing nut. this differs from the other ones i have seen. does anyone know the manufacturer?
