Hello to everyone, been a hunter, target shooter, gun buyer for about 60 years. I guess in 1969 toten a M-14 all over Ft.Knox got me to liking Hi-power rifles. Have a M1a and a 1903 Springfield, and some others. Good rifles are like a good steak hard to beat. Enjoy reading all the posts and glad to be in the group. I live about 20 miles east of Mammoth Cave and 30 miles north to the Corvette Plant. Enjoy shooting and hunting but don't go as much as I used too. Being almost 70 not good as I once was ! When I get out in the woods its still makes me smile, game or no game the thrill of the hunt is still with me. Take care and I'll be reading many posts.

I'm new, joined yesterday. Blah, blah, blah I like old guns. The combined knowledge base and experience of the members and contributors at milsurps.com is mind bending. I've been around the block a few times so maybe I can repay the kindness and generosity already shown to me in 2 days I've been here, with a tip now and then. I live in California and everything you've ever heard about it is probably true. But I get almost 300 days of sunshine a year so bite me.

    collecting 1911 and 1911a1 pistols

    Hello,
I am new to this group.
Have been collecting for some time..I have a special interest in rare and unusual 11's ..Also ones with a real provenance.
Recently very interested in Union Switch and Signal 1911a1's and any material relating to their manufacture. I am fortunate to have the US&S official (priviate) history of their arms manufacturing during WW2 published by the Company right after the War. Came from WW2 era senior employee estate.
Also collect Navy issued 11's...many w provenance.
Parts ( military) are quite interesting as to idiosyncrasies of manufacture.
Best of wishes during this Covid pandemic..

    05/18/20 - New Member

I'm Nick from Milwaukee and am joining my very first forum to, hopefully, grow my knowledge in the area militaria collection and share my passion with the similarly addicted. My focus is WWII Axis but am also on the look out for WWI Central Powers and open to any piece of interest from any period.

I particularly need to lean on fellow collectors and reference material to do a better of correctly identifying potential purchases. My present great white whale hunt is for authentic Japaneseicon Type 90 helmet liners which, I understand, are a sparse commodity.

Looking forward to sharing my hobby and improving my experise with your collective help.
