    Hello All,

Glad to have such a great forum that deals with those war horses such as the Lee-Enfield and Springfield 1903 rifles.

My current collection consists of a Smith Corona 03A3, a No. 4 Mk 1, an H&R Garand, an Inland M1icon Carbine, and a DWM Commercial Luger.

    Thanks again!

I just registered on the site. I found this site through a search for a Eddystone bolt question and this looked like a place I might enjoy. In the beginning stages of my collecting. So far have acquired 2 Garands (though one is till pending from CMPicon), an National Postal Meter M1 carbine, a 1903 Mark I, and a Eddystone 1917. Reproduction rifles include a Kahr Thompson .45 and a Springfield M1Aicon. Along with Colt 1911 (modern reproduction)
I've been through the black rifle phase of life and am turning more towards the classics, Milsurps and western cowboy arms. Thanks for letting me join here.

New Guy 11Charlie40 here - Aloha from Hawaii

Will learn how all this works as I go. 71 year old disabled vet with bad feet and Type 2 diabetes (form the Agent Orange, they tell me over at the VA) of the Vietnam Era (9-67 to 4-69). Carried the M14icon with select fire switch, bipod and extra mags while overseas. Really liked that rifle; anything I could see I could hit, on semi-auto. Really ticked me off that the MP's took away my cartridge collection at Tan Sonut (spelling?) Airfield so I could PCS back to the World.
Was a Class 01 FFL dealer for 30 years, retiring from the business in 2016. Also 27 years as a state certified pyrotechnic operator (Class B explosive) doing over 200 aerial fireworks shows around Hawaii in that time as a stringer for Pyro*Spectaculars of Rialto, CA.
Life member (Patron) of the NRA, served 27 years on the Board of Directors of the Hawaii Rifle Association, Hawaii's NRA State Affiliate. Was a NRA Junior Shooter in the 1960's and was a Life Scout and Troop Winner shooting a .22 cal Remington Mod 513T at the 1964 BSA Jamboree at Valley Forge, PA.
Served as SCCA Hawaii Region Safety Steward (1974-75) and Regional Executive (1976). I had the only street legal Toyota Corrola in Hawaii with a full roll cage in it. Driver's seat only, so I could carry all those orange cones and CO2 fire extinguishers to Hawaii Raceway Park for the Auto Cross and wheel-to-wheel events.
The Hawaii Historic Arms Association has two gun shows a year here in Honolulu. Our next one is the last weekend of this September, the 28th and 29th, at the Blaisdell Center's Exhibition Hall. That's the Fall Show. The Spring Show is March 14th and 15th, 2020.
    Yours for the shooting sports,
    Al Mongeon

Hello everyone, I am brand new to the Milsurps Forum. I have enjoyed reading many of your posts for the last few months and using your knowledge to help restore a variety of rifles. I just started collecting about 2 years ago and truly enjoy researching the history related to each firearm, preserving them for the future, and sharing them with friends and people who have never experienced anything like them. I am branching out into some more serious collectors pieces with different problems and will be seeking your assistance in insuring that they are preserved in the manner that best protects them and their value (that's how I convince my wife to let me buy them!). I would appreciate some immediate help reference being guided to the best location to get advice on preserving the stocks on a Kar98kicon and a series 11 Nagoya Arisakaicon (both have been stored in a private collection for a long time with no attention). Thank you!
