Its not a bad round, I have a Colt Frontier Single Action in that Cal. Fun to shoot and can be pretty accurate.

    22 Mag

    Goo,
A .22 Mag is a excellent cartridge for lots of things, small game and varmits out to 100-150 yards with todays newer loads. I shoot a bolt gun in that caliber and love it. I envy you having a Ruger 10/22 Mag, I have been looking for a nice one for years and with no luck so far. They are a bit "spendy" to shoot at 12-16 bucks a box for ammo but they are superior in every way to the .22LR except in price of the ammo. I carry my bolt action .22 Mag as a pickup gun and really enjoy it. Enjoy that 10/22 Mag......you dog grrrrr.

    Regards

    thanks, gents.
my reason for getting 22 mag vs 22 lr was that i assumed 22 lr wasn't much good for target shooting outside 50 yards. ain't shot the 1022 at 100 yards yet, though.
