Funny how a couple days can turn into a month. I also cooked up M2 ball spec loads with unused (seconds) brass blanks. The necks worked much easier with the unused brass. There was just a bit left of the bottom crimp after initial sizing and the merest trace after firing, cleaning, and sizing. These will go into my active stock.
Out of 20 rounds of M2 made from reloaded brass blanks, there were 3 short splits at the top and one in the middle (bottom crimp). Primer pockets ran a couple thousandths larger than once fired LC 69. The bottom crimp remained prominent after firing and sizing. There were no problems noted with lead bullet loads . I'll probably load these once with either lead or M2 loads then put then aside until I can get them annealed. Great fun, what?
